TransFIRe hub launch and conference - 6 October 2021
The Transforming Foundation Industries Research and Innovation hub (TransFIRe) will officially launch on 6 October 2021 with an online event open to all interested. The launch will be followed by the Transforming Foundation Industries conference on resource efficiency and circular economy.
Programme
TransFIRe launch (13:30-15:00)
With speakers such as Prof Mark Jolly (Cranfield University), Bruce Adderley (UKRI), Prof Sue Black (Durham University), and our work stream leads and industry chairs to:
- Introduce the vision and strategic objectives of TransFIRe
- Depict how TransFIRe fits into the ‘bigger’ ISCF TFI challenge
- Focus on how the objectives will be delivered together with our project partners
- Welcome your views on the challenges that TransFIRe could best support you with
TFI conference on resource efficiency and circular economy (15:00-17:30)
The TFI conference will:
- Look at the bigger governance and economic context within which we are transforming
- Host break out groups to hear from our Stakeholder Steering Group industry leads
- Host companies/researchers with presentations on Resource Efficiency/Circular Economy
- Discuss your views on contextual drivers and barriers for transforming foundation industries
We look forward to welcoming speakers such as Bryony Livesey (UKRI) and industry representatives on TransFIRe. We will also run three sessions in parallel with talks from companies and academia, focusing on Ceramics, Cement & Glass, Metals, and Paper & Chemicals.

TransFIRe was coproduced with 12 academic institutions and more than 60 project partners, and this event will be the first opportunity for the broader community to have a say on what you would like TransFIRe to focus on. Join us on this transformation journey and make your voices count.
